Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
Generally, if you have sex every other day from the time your period ends until the time you feel premenstrual symptoms, 80 percent of couples will conceive within a year. You typically ovulate 14 days before the start of your period (not on day 14 of your cycle... unless you have a 28 day cycle).
It is important once you conceive to take a
folic acid (at least 400mg) or a prenatal vitamin supplement. Many women start this when they try to get pregnant so they are taking it at conception.
Regarding exercise, as long as you get your period regularly, there is no harm in exercising while you are trying to conceive and also while pregnant. Your own body will tell you if you need to cut back. As long as you feel fine and not tired or dizzy, exercise is healthy and safe during
pregnancy, and it will help you not gain too much weight.
I hope this information was reassuring and I was able to adequately answer your question.
Best wishes, Dr. Brown
