When I was 17 or 18 years old, I went to bed with no symptoms that I knew. My mother woke me up the following day after I slept for perhaps 16 hours. I was sweating terribly. She took my temperature and it was at or near 103 degrees. She was very concerned because I was soaking wet from sweat, and the high fever. She let me go back to sleep, and I remember waking up paralyzed. I could NOT move. I was uncomfortable, and I wanted to roll over and I just could not. Anyway, mom checked me to make sure the fever did not go up, because she said if it did, I was going to the ER at the hospital. I guess the fever leveled off, because she did not to take me to a hospital. I am, to this day curious what this 24 to 30 hour illness was. After falling back to sleep, I woke up and could move, and felt much better. Fever went down. I WAS really paralyzed, and very ill. No vomiting, nothing. I just went to bed feeling fine, and woke up 16 hours later in a bad state.
