When Can I Get The Tumor Removed If Having One On The Optic Nerve?

Hello, I am a 45 year old female who has just been diagnosed with a meningioma tumor sitting on the optic nerve of my left eye. It is 1.09cm in size. I have always been very healthy. They are watching it and the eye doctor states that if it grows it will affect both of my eyes. They say I have had it approx. 2 years and that they will watch it. How long have people had these tumors before they are removed?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Progress of meningioma is to be observed. Ithas effected one eye and now nochance of effecting other eye. With ophthalmoscopy its growth is to be observed. Vision and IOT is to be recorded. It will be team work of retina and neuro surgeon. Let them decide the time of surgery.
