When Can I Start Listening To Music With Headphones After Undergoing Tympanoplasty Operation?

Hi, it has been over a month since I got a tympanoplasty operation. I think the packing in my ear is still there, and I have been prescribed to drops to help get it out. My query is, when can I start listening to music with headphones/earphone again?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to health care magic,

I am Dr Sriram Nathan, an ENT surgeon who has done thousands of tympanoplasty surgeries.

In most of my patients I would usually advice them to refrain from hearing music using a headphones for a period of two to three months till the hole is completely healed and the drum starts moving.

In any case you can listen to stereo music anytime and it is best to wait for at least two months if you are otherwise young and healthy for the complete healing to take place to listen to headphones.

hope this helps

regards
