Hello dear,

A. First of all, HIV cannot be diagnosed only on the basis of symptoms.
The presence of sore throat and muscle pain is either due to stress or an indicative of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection.
It can be managed with a course of antibiotics, antihistamine preparations, analgesics (like Paracetamol) & perform warm salt water gargle.
Kindly consult an ENT specialist & start treatment as advised.

B. There is no need to panic with thoughts of HIV infection.
To relieve your concern, you can undergo certain tests like p24 assay or PCR for HIV, which becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.
So, if this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.

Hello
You don't know the HIV status of that lady but her antigen /antibody test is negative and above all she also have two deliveries , so also negative ( as HIV test before delivery is necessary ) for HIV .
Antibodies to HIV begin to appear within two weeks of primary infection ( contract ) , so you have to wait for another 4-5 days .
As you mentioned that you are having swollen throat and muscle pain ( sore throat and malaise ) , but these symptoms may be due to flu or common cold or viral infection .
In my opinion you are not having HIV but you are in great stress , so get in rapid (P 24 ) nucleic acid amplification ( pcr , rna ) test after 15 days of sexual encounter .
Hope this will help you.

HIV can't be diagnosed by on the basis of symptoms as HIV too causes the general symptoms like fever , sore throat swollen lymph nodes. The only way to confirm is get your self tested for HIV antibodies as per country's protocol.
