When Can Oral Contraceptives Be Taken After Discontinuing Erythromycin Intake?
Hi I was persribed a round of erythromycin to be taken for 6 days, twice a day, I also take the contraceptive pill leven ed. I ve been told that I should use another form of birth control whilst on the antibiotic and after the round, how much longer after this do I need to wait before the pill will become effective again?

Erythromycin may increases the metabolism is contraceptive pills and thus can cause contraceptives failure. You have to take a back up contraceptive method while you are on erythromycin. It has to be continued two days after stopping erythromycin.
