When Can Shingles Vaccination Be Taken After Receiving Cortisone Injections?

My spouse was given cortisone injections in both knees today. How long does he need to wait to get the prevnar 13 vaccine or the vaccine that helps prevent shingles? Also, will the cortisone have an adverse effect on treatment of fungal infection of the toe nails?

Hi,

Yes, it could have an effect on the fungal infection as cortisone can have effects on immunity. Just consult a dermatologist for the same if he wants to increase the dose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
