When Do Periods Begin After Taking Primolut N?

Hi I was on primolut for 21 days 10mg a day to help with irregular periods after childbirth. 15 days after stopping primolut I have not had a menstral bleed. Pregnancy test is negative. How long does it usually take to get a menstral bleed ? Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* It takes normally a week period once the consumption of Primolut N is stopped to give menses via endometrial sloughing through progesterone effect.

* Absence of the menses suggest hormone imbalance due to multiple factors which have to be evaluated as polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis or other central nervous system issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
