When Is Should TT Injections Be Given To A Pregnant Women?
Dr. nnnn from new delhi is the doctor. my wife is 6 months pregnant. Upto now doctor has not given any TT injection. once i asked her she said she knows what to do and became angry. the people around me have informed me that TT injections should be given in every 3 months. what should i do.
Dear Member, Thanks for the query. you are right in asking about the TT shots. All women in their pregnancy have to be immunised against tetanus by administration of 2 tetanus toxoid shots 4 weeks apart. you have not mentioned whether it is her 1st or second pregnancy. If it is her second pregnancy and within 5 years of the 1st baby then only one TT shot given at 7 months is fine. Hopefully this answers your query. Thanks. Dr Bhagyashree.
