When Is Surgery Recommended For Patients Suffering From Aortic Regurgitation?
What stage do you need to be in before surgery ?? I have a leaking Aortic valve I am 60 diagnosed 18 months ago due to really bad short of breath especially stairs or up hill.I no longer go trekking at altitude and do shorter hiking trips but have a big trip planned for Antarctica and Nepal next year and know I could not do them in my current condition especially Nepal
In fact surgery becomes necessary for a valvular lesion when it causes severe symptoms like yours. Regarding your trip this would depend on your capabilities of exercise and exertion. If you are short of breath, I would personally advise to avoid strenuous exercises.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
