I just had a Tympanoplasty procedure done earlier today and while I was in the recovery room, my ENT doctor talked to my wife about my procedure and post-op care. I was precribed Ciprodex otic drops along with nausea and pain med and my wife swore that she remembered that my ENT doc wanted my to start on my oral antibiotic (which he did not write me a prescription) and to not use Ciprodex until I see him for a follow-up in 8 days. On my discharge instruction, there was no mentions of oral antibiotics and a vague instruction on when to start Ciprodex. I tried to call my doctor or his nurse to get clarification, but they can not call me back until tomorrow. My question is; should I be started on Ciprodex today since I am not sure when the nurse or doctor will call me back. - Thank you.
