When Should I Expect The Pain Due To Biopsy To Subside?
Hi- I had a scalp biopsy on Friday. The site still hurts. The pain was more excruciating and varied yesterday. Today, it is more localized , little bit of burning, and a nuisance. How soon can I go for a run (I sweat a lot when I work out)? Also, when should I expect the pain to subside? Any other post-care tips since the only ones I received from the doctor were don t wash my hair for 2 days and take tylenol. Thanks
I have noted your concerns and feel that most probably it is due to stitches on the site of biopsy. Generally the pain subsides as the time elapses and so should happen in your case since it is less than before. If you feel like, increase the dose of Tylenol or consider changing to another compound. to all my patients, I instruct that after biopsy, they should get a dressing done after two to three days to ensure that stitches are healthy and that healing is as per expectations. I also give them antibiotics to ward off any infection.
your doctor has advised you to not wash the head and i agree with the advice.
You are likely to get immense relief by taking proper dose of analgesics.
Best wishes
