Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When Should I Take Diflucan Pills, If I Am On Penicillin?
I am on a 10 day cycle of penicillin....i am very prone to yeast infections. I was prescribed two diflucan pills...when should i take the first one? I am currently on day 2 of the penicillin. Should I take it today? I already feel yeast infection symptoms begining.
Because diflucan usually starts to work within one day, hence it should be taken on the first day of starting penicillin and another dose of diflucan every seven days until you finish the course of penicillin.
Since you are currently on day-2 of the penicillin you can start taking first dose of diflucan and its second dose may be taken on day-7 of penicillin.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
