Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When Should Regular Diet Be Started Post Recovery From Typhoid?
Hi, Two three days before doctor diagnose typhoid 1:80 and prescribed medicines for three days (Ciprofloxin 500mg 2times in a day and Brexin 20mg 2times in a day.) Now i do not have high grade fever and feeling better. I am taking soft stuff food. kindly advise me when i start the regular food.
Can you mention your symptoms too? Widal test of 1:80 is just marginal, and can not diagnose typhoid. The best way to diagnose typhoid is blood culture.
If diagnosed, there is no definite cut off to start a regular diet. The usual practice is to wait until our body is ready to accept- ie. when no more high grade fever, no abdominal pain, and appetite returns.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
