Hello welcome to HCM. Your mother's blood reports definitely indicate diabetes.. FBS >126 and PP2BS >200 indicates diabetes. Regarding when to take medicines My advice to you is - 1. Medications for diabetes almost always should be taken before meal or during meal so that post diet blood sugar remain within normal limits. 2.The treatment adviced to you is adequate. But repeat every 3 monthly FBS, PP2BS AND HBA1c report. 3 . She should do regular walking and healthy food habits. Eat more green leafy vegetables. Thank you. Have a nice day.
Dear sir/madam i can understand your concern. this medication prescribed by your doctor is a combination of two medications They are glimipride and metformin usually we advise diabetic patients to take this medication 15-20 mins before food. As the medication is started newly i suggest you to check blood sugars at 3 am in early morning once in three days, since its the time when we can expect low sugars to come. kindly discuss with your doc in case of low sugars. regards Dr vamsi krishna Diabetologist
