Where Are The Facets Of The 11th And 12th Thoracic Vertebrae?

Hi, I ve got an anatomy exam tomorrow and I would like to know about the facets of the 11th and 12th thoracic vertebrae. I m sorry about wasting your time but it s urgent and my lecturer s not helpful. Basically, I know that they lack a transverse facet, but what about the superior and inferior costal facets? I m so sorry but this is urgent! Thank you, Marie

Hello,

11 and 12 thoracic ribs are floating ribs. They do not have any costal attachment. Images of 11 and 12 ribs can help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
