Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Where Does Blockage In Artery Fall As Far As Severity Is Concerned?
Hi. Just had a stent put in my proximal LAD. During the procedure a clot broke loose and completely blocked the artery. My troponin Peaked at 17.2. Can you give me an idea where this falls as far as severity? I cannot find any type of chart to compare to. Thank you!
The stent insertion is done under video fluoroscopic guidance and hence immediate visualization of any clot breakage and blocking the artery is tackled with Dormia basket retrieval technique by the expert intervention cardiologist.
If the same is noticed after the procedure is over, the medications to tackle the clots in terms of anti platelet and blood thinners take care of the residual events in form of Argatroban, Warfarin, Clopidrogel and others as per the clinical need and expertise decisions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
