Which Instrument Is Used To Test Abdominal Distension?

My husband is 89. His stomach is distended and he is to have a test next week where they put an instrument either by mouth or his bottom. They gave it a name and I can t remember Can you help me? I just have this one question.

Hello there are two different tests,the one in which they put a probe in the mouth is called Endoscopy
the one in which an anal/rectal probe is used is called Colonoscopy.
