Which Is The Best Medicine To Reduce Sinus Pressure And Thin Mucus?
I have sinus pressure in my head and ears and I have hbp...went to med center they gave me a steriod shot and amoxicillin and calavulanate potassium 875/125, and told me to use my Flonase, but I am still having pressure in mt head and ears.....need to know what I can take to get rid of the pressure and thin the mucus...what about mucinex, and if so which one would be the best. Thanks, Vivian
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to acute exacerbation of Sinusitis. Mucinex, helps in loosening the mucus & provide symptomatic relief. But the underlying cause needs to be treated.
Management includes: 1. Steam inhalation. 2. Analgesics like paracetamol. 3. Nasal decongestant drops. 4. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity as advised by your Doctor. Kindly continue them. 5. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief. 6. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet. 7. Also make sure that you are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.
Wish you good health & a speedy recovery. Take care.
