Which Is The Best Type Of Hysterectomy When Suffering From Heavy Bleeding?
Hello, I've had numerous fibroids & have had a D&C & other procedures to fix the problems. I still have heavy bleeding, changed the birth control pill & have my period straight for over two weeks. I'm now figuring I'll have a hysterectomy.I know there are different types & was trying to figure out which is best for me.
In almost every situation, a minimally invasive hysterectomy is the best option. That will be less painful, a quicker and easier recovery, and less scarring. This can be accomplished vaginally, laparoscopically, or robotically. Most doctors feel that if it is possible, the vaginal route is the easiest and best tolerated and least expensive route. All of those options are considered minimally invasive and they work very well. Occasionally, there may be a reason why you would need to have an open hysterectomy. This can occur in women with multiple surgeries, or other scenarios. You need to discuss with your doctor which one of these would be right for you. I hope this was helpful, please let me know if you have any more questions.
