Which Specialist To Consult For Three Different Type Of Rashes?
My name is Marilyn Pubal. I am asking on behalf of my son who lives in Canada. He has 3 different rashes on his body and has been to 3 dermatologists in Canada. Itching is severe, can't get in till May 21. Has been on predisone all this time. Am worried about all the predisone, am looking for someone here in Ohio or WVA to help him. One rash looks like measles, one is a raised and rough rash and the other looks like fungus on hands and feet. Help! He can't sleep, don't know whether he needs dermatologist or immunologist.
Hello As you mentioned in the query do following things. 1 First of all tell your son stop using prednisolone in any condition ( particularly just for itching or rashes ) . 2 As you mentioned that there is itching and rashes , I want to tell you that this is not measles rashes at all . 3 In my opinion may be due to scabies ( due to mistaken identity ). When such situation develop I usually advise may patient take combination of monteleukast+ fexofenadine for relief of rashes and itching. Broad spectrum anti helminthes such as IVERMECTINE help in such cases. Since all these drugs are prescription medicines so please consult one more dermatologist and get his opinion after stool examination and blood for eiosinophils count. Good luck for your son.
