While Suffering From Conjunctivitis, What Could Painful Ears And Jaws Indicate?

my son has just come down with conjunctivites his eye's are pretty sore looking, he doesn't have a fever but just woke up in pain saying the jaw area around his ear and behind it are hurting pretty bad he looked to be in a fair bit of pain, why is this? given him nurofen and and ice pack and he's settled down.

Hello
It seems from the history that your son while having conjunctivitis is having pain behind and in front of the ear.
This indicates inflammatory enlargement of the draining lymph nodes. This commonly occurs in viral conjunctivitis.
The treatment is by use of antiinflammatory drugs and antibiotics.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
