Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
White Patches On Shoulders, Raised, Dry Skin, Itching Neck, Red Spots
I have white patches on my shoulders, no matter how long i stay in the sun it wont change color, but the rest of my body will. The while patches are raised a little bit off my skin, and have dry skin all over it and all over my neck that itches all the time, lotion does not help. Also when i get hot i get red spots all over my neck and stomic.
The lesions could certainly be due to a chronic inflammatroy process (auto immune disease, psoriasis, rheumatologic ) condition or an infectious process.
Booking an appointment with a dermatologist is the ideal thing to do. A skin exam under a dermatologic lense, scrapping for bacteriololgic and fungal analysis, cultures and antibiotic sensitivity testing might be useful. Specific tests shall be asked in case the clinical review points towards a rhuematological or autoimmune origin.
Thanks and kind regards,
Bain LE, MD.
