White Substance From Ear, Affected Hearing. Using Hearing Aid. Is It Fungus?

My dad over the past year has started getting rather large hunks of white stuff out of his ear. It affects his hearing to the point he has purchased a hearing aid. He's been to his gp a number of times and they seem to believe it is some type of fungus? He's been on 2 rounds of antibiotics but nothing helps, last week his doc told him to start putting 4 drops4 times a day of eye drops in the affected ear!
And ideas or suggestions what this may be and what we can do to get rid of it?

hello dear
thanks for your query at HCM
I under stand your concern about discharge
it can be due fungal infection or bacterial infection also
1 get culture and sensitivity test done on that discharge
2 use antibiotics accordingly
3 un necessary use of antibiotics is no use how many times you use them.
4 get ear examined properly by ENT specialist if needed.
regards.
