Whom To Consult For Leg Pain While Walking? Some Relief With New Statin Medicine

I am a 79 year old male. I have had leg pain when I try to go for a walk but not when I am sitting. My cardiologist thought it might be from my zocor prescription so he put me on a new statin hoping that it might help. It helped a little but not much . What kind of a physician should should I now see. Some one suggested a neurologist. Please advise.

hello.what kind of pain is it?statins can cause some leg weakness or discomfort but not all the time.try taking it at bedtime instead of daytime. if the pain is numbing or like an electric shock, a neurologist is the one you go to. but if it's heaviness after prolonged standing or walking maybe a vascular surgeon if it does not improve when you switch your statins to bedtime.
