Why I Have Black Eye For No Reason ?

I am a 26 yr old female and for about 11 years now iv noticed my left eye (and ONLY me left eye) randomly turning BLack!...every so often it looks like i have a black eye. I always have somewhat of slight dark circles under my eyes(possibly cuz im olive toned) but once in a while my left eye looks really dark greenish all the way around, even on the lid. Its so bad that makeup wont cover it and total strangers come up to me to ask if i have a black eye. My right eye never looks like that and that makes me wonder what the hell is going on with me left?? When i was about 16 we asked a doctor about it and he brushed it off saying its just me skin tone BULL! Then why is my right eye just dandy? it doesnt make any sense. And there isnt ANY type of irritation, burning, swelling, pain or vision problems at all. and NO there is absolutely no trauma to that side of my head or eye. I just started taking iron supplements 2 days ago just in case that had somthing to do with it but so far no change. I feel like as i get older it looks worse and is more often. Im starting to worry.help!

Hi

You might be suffering from Erythema dyschromicum perstans, or other possible disorders of pigmentation, including nevus like disorders.
You need a biopsy of skin from that area to find out the actual cause.
As of now, do not try any medicines till it is known what is causing the pigmenatation.

See a local dermatologist

All the best.

Hi Dear,
Since you have noticed this at least at the age of 16, it appears to be a disorder of long standing and since only area surrounding one eye is affected, it almost certainly has to do with some skin problem, such as increased capillary supply to that region such as port wine stain.
Usually black eye is noticed in case of iron deficiency anemia, but then it should be seen on both sides and not restricted to one side.
I think it could have been present since birth.
I suggest you consult an expert dermatologist and seek his opinion.
