Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. Beforing reaching upto some conclusion, you should know dangerous signs of head injury
: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
: fits
:
loss of consciousness or decreasing consciousness. Increasing confusion is considered as decreasing consciousness
: persistent non relieving headache
: onset of new focal deficit
If any of above signs, patient must consult ER.
Now in your case, if you are having
dizziness and confusion which are not relieving or increasing, you must first consult ER. There you may undergo
CT scan of head to rule out
fracture or bleed. Full neurological examination will be done. Further management will be decided after it.
Meanwhile at home, you can follow few tips
: Apply icepacks at bump site to reduce pain and swelling
: Take painkiller like
Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
: Keep your head at higher level than chest
: Avoid pressure at injury site
Hope it will help you.
Thanks. take care.
