Why Am I Feeling Fetal Movements In My Ear?

Morning! So I did some rope jumping into a lake over the summer and got water in my ear. So it felt a bit blocked from time to time but over the past few weeks I keep getting the sensation of something moving/crawling in my outer ear canal. Like fetal movements Comes and goes with no pain, drainage or hearing loss, but certainly freaking me out.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,looking at your symptoms.there are two possibilties:

1.) Mild Fungal infection in the outer ear.
Fungal infection occurs when there is increase moisture. In your case,as you did jumping in the lake, some water might have gone inside your ear,and if that water does not come out, there is increased moisture due to that. This might cause fungal infection.
2.)Mild liquified Wax.
Mild Wax is generally present in ear of most people. It is not a disease. It is normal. When water goes inside, the wax might get liquified and that might be moving inside your ear.

You need to consult an ENT Specialist for the diagnosis.He/She will examine your ear by an Otoscope and if needed do the ear cleaning.

Next time while going into water, make a habit to use ear plug, which will prevent water from going inside your ear.

Hope this answers your question.Take care.
