I am 5 weeks post op for a total hip replacement and am experiencing some nerve pain starting at my groin area to the top of my calf. I am unable to touch this area and i cannot wear clothing that comes in contact with that area. Bead sheets and covers are a no no. My surgeon has prescribed neurontin. I have my 6 week check up in a few days and would like to undestand how the GABAPENTIN works and is this short term therapy. Is the medication masking the symptoms? What questions should I present to my surgeon?
