Why Am I Having Burning Pain In My Stomach?

Hi, i've been having loose bowel movements over the last few days and slight burning pain in my stomach. The stools vary from normal brown colour to watery yellow, although on my last visit it was fluffy and mucus coated. I have been taking omeprazole on and off which does help with the pain but i will admit that i do drink a little excessively and get stressed out a lot. I do eat fairly healthily though, also sometimes feel a bit nauseous in the morning. Can you advise me please? thanks, James.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of loose bowel movements varying from brown to watery yellow over the last few days and slight burning pain in stomach, mucus also present, there is stress, takes drinks, nausea in the morning in spite eat healthy, wants advise.
As per the history you have provided this looks to be gastroenteritis.
I would advise you the following:
Continue Omeprazole once daily.
Take antacid when on empty stomach.
Send stool and blood for tests.
Get a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole.
Probiotics and supportive treatment will help to recover fully.
