Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
Modern
pregnancy tests are extremely accurate, and if 10 to 14 days have passed since the possible date of conception, if your pregnancy test is negative, then you are not pregnant.
Many of the symptoms we commonly associate with pregnancy, like breast tenderness and
bloating, can also be caused by
hormonal irregularities or even PMS. The
stress of worrying about pregnancy can also make you more acutely tuned to your premenstrual symptoms.
So again, if enough time has passed since your last act of
unprotected intercourse, you can assume that your pregnancy test is accurate. Your symptoms of bloating and breast tenderness will likely resolve once you get your menstrual period. If it is only been a few days since your active intercourse, I would wait at least 10 days before rechecking a pregnancy test.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today, and that this information was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
