Hi Doc, Its been three weeks since im suffering with a tasteless tongue. First, i thought i cud be an ulcer, but as days went by i felt no recovery but it became worse. there is no eruption sort of thing or any scars. its just that im not able to sense any taste to sweet , sour , bitter etc PPl suggested to take vitamins as vitamin deficiency wud be a cause. But it wouldnt get any better, rather worse. Pls help me.
Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Loay Khan's Response
Hi I think it is not a vitamins issue and it is a more serious nurological condition,it could also be just having cold or viral infection and the taste will come back again. But the best way is to see a doctor right away to examine you and diagnose the cause of taste loss for so long. So vitamins might not help so much but a visit to a doctor will be the only way to treat this condition.
