Hello,

Pain and discomfort in the front of the abdomen near the liver area (right upper quadrant) can be caused due to overexertion, heavy lifting, intense physical activity. You are advised rest. Ice/heat therapy and taking pain relievers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen after food will give relief. Get connected with a Physical therapist. Gentle stretching and strengthening exercises are helpful once the initial pain subsides.

You should get clinically examined by a GP, get required blood tests & imaging tests done to rule out underlying medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms like gastritis or stomach ulcers. Gallstones or cholecystitis, hepatitis or fatty liver disease, hiatal hernia, etc. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. You will be treated accordingly.

The liver is located in the upper right part of the abdomen, but there are also other structures (gallbladder, pancreas, intestines, muscles, and nerves) that could contribute to discomfort in that region.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
