Why Am I Suddenly Having Very Fast And Hard Heart Beat With Normal EKG ?
At work the other day quite suddenly my heart started beating very fast and hard and at the same time I felt like I might pass out. Also felt a lttle nauseous. I went home to rest for the day. The next day I had physical therapy and when they tookmy bp it was 135/101. Went to the ER. an ekg showed normal at that time and I a scheduled to be on a halter moniter for 24 hours.
Hi,
Thanks for query,
You symptoms are typical of coronary pain.
As your first ECG was normal but many a time first ecg may not show any coronary changes but subsequent ecg after 8 hours may show the changes,so they put on monitor.
If second ecg is normal then you are normal,no cardiac pain.
Afterward go for regular bp check up.
ok and bye.
HI, if you are young and do not have any risk factor for heart disease like hypertension or diabetes, then most probably you suffered an episode of anxiety (palpitations, nausea, feeling like you might pass out). However, it is always advisable to get a thorough evaluation done to rule out any heart problem. Once it is done, you can consult a psychiatrist if the problem persists. All the best.
