Why Am I Having Irregular Periods, Stomach Cramps And Headaches After Inserting Nexplanon?
I had nexplanon inserted a year and a half ago, and have had a few irregular periods since. They have usually lasted 2-3 weeks, but been very light with no pain. I have now been bleeding very heavily for over 2 weeks and had stomach cramps and prolonged headaches. Should I go and get this checked out or wait for it to stop on its own accord? I have noticed the periods tend to come during times of stress, could this be a trigger?
Hello, if you are bleeding very heavily for over 2 weeks, it is better to check and rule out other causes such as infection . In addition you have stomach cramps and headache. It is usual to have irregular bleeding after implant for every one in three women. But your symptoms seems unusual.
At the times of stress, it is very common to have both decreased bleeding and increased bleeding. Thus please get examined by a gynecologist. Further if you are obese or overweight, please change your implant earlier.
hope this helps. please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
