Why Am I Not Losing Weight Even After Dieting And Doing Exercise?
Hi, I am diabetic and 35 yrs old following gud diet of 1200 cals per day and intense workouts everyday....I take 80 units of mixtard 2 times a day and still my sugars are around 250....not able to understand the logic.....I am also not losing any weight...

Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear of this difficulty loosing weight. How much calories you take in must be matched by the level of your physical activities. If at the end of the day you spend less than 1200cals in all your physical activities, then you would continue to gain weight. Diabetes is managed with diet, exercise, and drugs. When diet and exercise are maximized and goal is not attained, the dosages of your medications have to be considered or another drug added. Talk to your doctor about adjusting medications like increasing the dose of your insulin or adding an oral anti-diabetic medication to get your sugar numbers well controlled.
