Why Are Ondansetron And Diphenoxylate Prescribed?

My son only 7yrs old had gone to his doctor for nausa and dierirra and the doctor had prescribed 4mg substituted ondansetron odt and 60 diphenoxylate-atropine? My son has had the stomach flu since last sat.. would like to know which one is for what???
