Why Are Suboxone And Codeine Prescribed For A Heroin Addict?
I m afraid my questions would require way too much time. I am (trying) to help a heroin addict. He went to a doctor yesterday....and was prescribed suboxone and condine. I am trying to research. This has been going on for quite a long time. I m pretty exhausted and feel pretty hopeless, but I keep trying. Thank you so much for your offer, though.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Suboxone is a brand name of drug Buprenorphine. It is widely used for heroin addicts to avoid withdrawal symptoms. They act in the body similar to heroin so that when a person in withdrawn from heroin, body won’t feel any rapid loss of the substance and thus withdrawal symptoms are avoid. They are very effective and widely used. You can seek help from a deaddiction centre and hospitalisation is preferable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain
