Why Are The Ribs Of 10 Month Old Infant Visible And Has A Sunken Area Below It?

I have a 10 month old grandbaby that is underweight and her ribs are showing and below the rib cage she has a sunk in place I mention this to the mother she says its normal she admitted tonight that she only fees her 2 oz of babyfood at a time when the baby is with me I feed her more then that and she spits up everything I feed her help I don't know what to do the mother doesn't give the baby any milk she only gives her a fourth of oz of juice mix with enough of water to make 4 oz of liquids to me this isn't enough to properly feed a baby and I am concern about the baby ribs showing and a shunken in place below her ribs

I really appreciate your concern this could be a normal apprearience of the baby of her chest area but that might seems you abnormal, if the rib cage or it self is having some conginetal deformity then this would have been manifested very early but nothing like that happened so no need to worry about that, this is what I could say from the history given here but in actual the baby need be examined clinically, hope this information helps you have nice day.
