Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM. Before any thing else, I must say that your son needs urgent treatment under care of an interventional cardiologist for his heart problem TO SAVE HIS LIFE. From what you have written, I can understand that your son has got tripple vessels disease with two episodes of
myocardial infarction or ACS. Regarding the information that "Heart was beating at 20%", I suppose that his
ejection fraction is 20%. This may produce congestive cardiac failure. Significant akinesia may also be present. The
fainting I feel is due to the compromised function of his heart. As he has got
diabetes, I also need to rule out the possibility of hypoglycemic attack due to fasting, infection or medication. But, from the history the cardiac cause has increased possibility. With this much function left his heart cannot meet the
oxygen demand of the body as the pumping activity fails. Even, some
arrhythmia may also have precipitated the fainting. I can understand the financial problem you have been facing. But, the cardiac intervention is a definite requirement at the moment. Before going for the surgery, you should also be sure that the myocardium is still viable and restoration of blood supply via bypass grafting would be really effective. If so, you should go for the surgery as early as possible and a stringent control of diabetes and control of any infection will also be necessary prior to surgery. So consult your doctor regarding the same. For any further query, please write back and we will be very happy to solve your concern at the earliest. Regards. Dr. Kaushik
