Why Did My Husband Have Speech Problems After Taking Generic Statin?

These are symptoms my husband has been having problems with. He had a stint put in in the of 2011. Very active person. Has high blood pressure, which he takes medicine for, was on Liptor, which worked till he was switched to a generic statin, after that he began to have slurred speech, tightened muscles in tounge and throat. Went of statin temporarly to cleanse the system of the statins . It has not improved the slurred speech. He was tested for stroke, which he did not have. Would like a second opnion on this whole senaior.

Welcome to HCM

Statin is unlikely to cause this
Most likely a form of stroke / difficult to confirm by investigations… the focus in the brain is often too small to show on scans
The very atherosclerosis that necessitated a stent in the heart vessels – has affected the brain blood vessels too
A neurological consultation + MRI and MRA of the brain and neck vessels – may give clue.
