Why Do I Feel Pms Symptoms Along With Some Cramping And Light Pinkish Spotting?
I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy on September 23, 2013. I had a large ovarian cyst on the left ovary and severe endometriosis. My left ovary was removed, (I still have the right), uterus and cervix also removed. Since my surgery, each month at the time I would be normally starting my period I feel pms symptoms along with some cramping and light pinkish spotting. Is this normal?
As one of your ovary is remaining, there is possibility that as it is accustomed to the previous cyclical pattern, it may be producing the hormones in the same pattern and you may be having premenstrual symptoms.
But pinkish spotting one to two months after removal of the uterus is somewhat abnormal, you may need evaluation for this.
So, please go for local examination to rule out any local infection or granulation tissue or endometriotic tissue which can cause spotting.
Ultrasound helps to find out the present status of the left over ovary and any other abnormalities.
With this work-up the possible cause of the problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly with your doctor's advice.
