Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why Do I Have A Canker Sore Inside The Left Side Of My Throat?
I have a canker sore Inside the left side of my throat. Red ring with white center, but what I noticed today is a dark spot in the center the size of a ball on a ballpoint pen. Is that dark spot normal and part of the healing process? I just want to make sure it isn’t something more serious.
It seems like a healing canker sore. Usually the oral ulcer(Canker sore) heals from its periphery to center. In your case it seems like a healing process. As of now simply wait and watch, drink plenty of water and include more fruits and vegetables to your diet as vitamins especially vitamin C helps the healing process. If there is signs of non healing, we can plan for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
