Why Do I Have Bloating, Constipation, Flu Symptoms And, Frequent Thirst And Hunger?
About a week before my period was due I started showing signs of what I thought to be pregnancy. I was crampy, moody, tired, constantly thirsty and urinating, somewhat nauseous, and have been having flu like symptoms. I took a pregnancy test 2 days before my period was due and got a negative result. I then took another test on the day my period was due and received another negative result. I didn t receive my period until 4 days after it was due and it started out light and spotty and interchanging to dark and somewhat heavy at some points. I am still having weird symptoms like bloating, constipatation, feeling hungry and thirsty constantly and just the general feeling like I am pregnant. Is there still a chance I could be pregnant?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of showing symptoms of pregnancy one week before periods like cramps, moody, tired thirsty and urinating, nauseous and flu like symptoms, Pregnancy test was negative done 2 days before periods, got late period by 4 days when the bleeding was light and spotty to start with interchanging with dark and heavy sometimes, also have bloating, constipation, hungry an thirsty constantly, wants to know what are the chances of being pregnant. There looks to be no chance that you are pregnant, the symptoms can be attributed to flu and there can be a condition called pseudocyesis in which one gets the feeling that she is pregnant. In such a case I would advise you the following: First of all get yourself very clear that it is not pregnancy, get an ultrasound and blood hcg test to confirm that you are not pregnant and at the same time see for PCOS or so. Get an opinion of a Gynecologist for counseling. Keep away the stress and/or anxiety. Get a symptomatic treatment for the symptoms that you have, X-ray of the abdomen to see whether there is fecal impaction or gases and get stool softener for constipation. Paracetamol and other symptomatic treatment and you should be fine.
