Why Do I Have Sharp Pain In My Abdomen After A Leg Press?

Back in 2011, I had felt a sharp pain in my upper abdomen during a leg press of 755pounds. Since then I have felt my trachea moving when I do leg presses. Also I began to have anxiety soon after, the anxiety is random but is also triggered when I eat or drink too much. From time to time if i lean forward and look down while standing i can feel my heart flutter then the anxiety kicks in. Slight pressure on my upper abdomen sometimes hurts internally. And when I drink hot or cold drinks I can feel the sensation of the temperature through the left side of my chest. Can you offer me an opinion as to what may be wrong?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The symptoms that you have mentioned suggest that you are suffering from anxiety disorder.
Anxiety disorder is characterized by outs of anxiety when confronted by situations which would not precipitate anxiety in majority of individuals.
Heart fluttering or pounding is seen in anxiety.
Leg press exercise is followed by abdominal pain especially in beginners and this is due to pressure on the muscles.
High protein diet will help the muscles to recover fast.

Thus, taking high protein diet after exercising is treatment for the abdominal muscle pain and consult a psychiatrist for the anxiety symptoms.
behavioral therapy and medication (if required) will be used for the symptoms of anxiety.
