Why Do I Have Tightness Of Chest And Pressure Sensation In Lungs?
I am 45 and I am very athletic (I'm a personal trainer on the side) have a tightness in my chest and a sensation that I can't take a complete deep breath. I am unable to eat a full meal and after I eat it is difficult to breathe. It feels as if my stomache is pressing up into my lungs. It's very uncomfortable and creates a panic.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Since you are saying that your problems are increased on eating and you feel full after eating less favours diagnosis of GERD. It is Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter which causes the acid of stomach come up in the esophagus and cause the symptoms of tightness of chest and fullness in stomach. Follow these steps. 1. Avoid spicy and oily food. 2. Avoid heavy meals, take frequent small meals. 3. Avoid stress and anxiety. 4. Take good antacids like PPIs with prokinetic agents. 5. Go for walk after meals. 6. Keep 2-3 pillows under your head in the bed.
