Sometimes when I m sleeping, my head will jerk forward, it doesn t bother me much until tonight, I had jerked my head forward and had hit it on the corner of my dresser, in which causing a bump on the left side of my face right next to my eye. Why do I do this?
This is because of cervical muscle hypotonia. Hypotonia (reduced muscle tone) is common during sleep. But if it is aggravated, such incidents are happening.
So in my opinion, you should definitely consult a sleep specialist and get done a detailed sleep study to identify hypotonia.
