Why Do I Suddenly Suffer From Severe Chest Pains Or Costochondritis?
I am 57 female and was perfectly healthy but 6 months ago hospitalized with severe chest pain. Costochondritis. I cannot take steroids but do take ibuprofen daily. I can only work my desk job part time. The pain is debilitating somedays. I have never been completely out of pain for 6 months. I cannot do housework or laundry or lift anything over a few lbs. My life is not good. Will this condition ever go away. My doctor gives me no answers. I get severe chest pains when I an doing nothing but sitting. I don t know how to feel better and get out of pain. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Your chest pain is mostly due to costochondritis. Along with drugs, you need to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief. 1. Avoid stress and tension. 2. Avoid movements causing pain. 3. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. 4. Avoid bad postures in sleep. 5. Apply warm water pad on affected areas. 6. Wear rib belt to prevent minimal mobilization of ribs. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
