Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a almost three yr old granddaughter and when she cries she has a problem catching her breath. She is not holding her breath and does act very scared when she can t catch her breath. Should we be worried or is it something normal at this age.
What your child is experiencing are breath-holding spells. These are very common and not dangerous. You do not need to worry about them, and there is no need for any tests or examinations. This is a normal behavior in children.
I hope this is helpful and answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further assistance is needed.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
