Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recently i am always tired and get exhausted after being out of bed for only 2 hours. I feel like i could sleep forever but i have been eating and drinking as usual. My head also feels pressure from the inside, thos sometimes gives me headaches. what could be causing this?
Hi, Welcome to HCM! There are several reasons which could be causing this. It appears most likely that you have anaemia, i.e a low hemoglobin level. Low hemoglobin level is responsible for you feeling tired all day.
If I were your treating doctor, I'd advice you to -
1. Undergo complete blood count to know your blood parameters. 2. If your hemoglobin is low (as it appears to be), I'd start you on Iron tablets . If hemoglobin is too low, you may require Iron injections or even a blood transfusion. 3. Rule out other causes of tiredness like infections. 4. Advice a diet rich in iron such as jaggery, spinach, green leafy vegetables, non-vegetarian food.
Hope I've solved your query. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.
Regards, Dr, Sridhar Reddy
